After school I spent a year at Leeds College of Music and then went on to Durham University where I studied Music (along with Biblical Studies and Indian Civilisation - B. A. ) and finally did a diploma course in Jazz and Light music at Newcastle College of Arts and Technology. From 1980 -1991 I played many international jazz festivals, radio and TV shows as well as touring from Africa to Sweden with Dudu Pukwana's Zila (SA /GB).
